
Trainings developed, implemented and evaluated on child rights, child protection, child justice, child labour and violence against children
(2022-cont.) A series of trainings are conducted on behalf of UNFPA for staff of Migration Management, law enforcement and local governments on prevention of domestic violence and violence against women.
(2021) The training programme on strengthening identification, referral and assistance services for the victims of child trafficking, developed in 2021 within the framework of the “Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in Turkey” Project implemented by Council of Europe, was provided for the staff of the Ministry of Family and Social Services in regional trainings conducted in four provinces.
(2021-2022) Consultancy services were provided for revision of training programmes and handbooks developed for candidate judges-prosecutors and newly appointed social workers in 2014 within the framework of “Justice for Children” Project implemented in collaboration of the Ministry of Justice, Justice Academy of Turkey and UNICEF.
(2021) Info notes were prepared for facilitators and participants to be used in Turkish adaptation of seven e-learning modules on child labour in agriculture developed jointly by FAO-ILO.
(2021) A training needs analysis was conducted for four target groups (Directorate General for Labour central level staff, local staff assigned in child labour units, central and local level strategic and administrative staff from relevant social partners and frontline education and child protection staff) under the “Elimination of Child Labour in Seasonal Agriculture” Project implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
(2021) A training programme was developed for child protection staff on strengthening identification, referral and assistance services for the victims of child trafficking within the framework of the “Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in Turkey” Project implemented by Council of Europe.
(2019-2021) Sector-specific guidelines and training modules were developed and online / face-to-face trainings were conducted for law enforcement and justice officials on behalf of UNFPA on child, early and forced marriage.
(2014) Training programmes and handbooks were developed for candidate judges-prosecutors and newly appointed social workers; and consultancy services were provided for revision of training programmes for child prisons’ staff within the framework of “Justice for Children” Project implemented in collaboration of the Ministry of Justice, Justice Academy of Turkey and UNICEF.
(2013-2014) A training programme was developed and piloted on behalf of Koç Holding for police officers working with women victims of violence at Istanbul Police Department.
(2013) A training programme (face to face and e-training modules) was developed on “Holistic Approach in Child Protection Services” for the staff of child protection centers within the framework of the “Strengthening Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation Services for Children Victims of Abuse and Neglect” Project implemented by the Association for Supporting Child Protection Centers (ÇOKMED) and Marmara University Child Protection Implementation and Research Center with the financial support of Istanbul Development Agency.
(2013) A training programme was developed on prevention of child labour in seasonal migrant agriculture, on behalf of International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Development Workshop, for all relevant parties including public officials, village heads, orchard owners, agricultural middlemen and families.
(2012) Trainings were provided on behalf of Artı Artı Training and Consultancy Center for volunteers and professional staff of Tarlabaşı Community Center on risk prevention and intervention mechanisms for children; and for high school students under social risk on child rights and protection within the framework of a project conducted by Zeytinburnu Municipality Family, Women and Disabled Support Center (AKDEM).
(2012) A training programme was developed and conducted for dormitory managers on child protection and risk prevention within the framework of a project on strengthening young girls, implemented by Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education.
(2010-2011) AÇEV parenting and literacy programmes were analyzed with child protection perspective and programme specific recommendations for revision were developed in light of the analysis results.

Researches, evaluations and planning on child labour and working conditions
(2021-cont.) Consultancy services are being provided for the rapid assessment study, carried out by the Development Workshop in cooperation with UNICEF, to determine the current status of child labour in service industry in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Antalya.
(2020-2021) Consultancy services were provided for the “Refugee Labour Under Lockdown” Project implemented by the Edinburgh University in collaboration with the Development Workshop. Strategy development, mapping, modelling and evaluation on child protection and child justice

(2021-2022) A sample monitoring plan was prepared for Istanbul to ensure follow-up of what needs to be done for the effective functioning of the child protection system during pandemics and natural disasters within the framework of “Monitoring Protection of Children During Pandemics and Natural Disasters” Project funded by the Etkiniz (Monitoring Compliance with International Human Rights Framework) EU Programme and implemented by the Association for Supporting Child Protection Centers (ÇOKMED).
(2021) Consultancy services were provided in the framework of the “Strengthening Fair Labor Monitoring to Combat Child Labor” Project funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and implemented by the Development Workshop. (2020-2021) Sectoral consultation meetings were conducted and a “National Early Childhood Policy Preparation Document” was prepared in cooperation with UNICEF Turkey and on behalf of the Child Development and Educators Association.

(2016-2019) A referral guide about available services provided to 0-8 year old children and their families was developed on behalf of Bernard van Leer Foundation. (2010-2011) A strategy document was prepared for AÇEV on how to strengthen the Turkish child protection system. In this context, a desk review report was prepared on the current situation of children and child rights in Turkey at the legislation, policy and implementation levels; a needs analysis was conducted based on the international standards and two country examples; and, an action plan and a strategy report were developed based on the results of the needs analysis.

Researches on violence against children

Conferences and workshops organized on violence against children and peace culture
(2014) “Family, Child and Violence Conference” was organized with 150 participants from international and national institutions in collaboration with Boğazici University with the support of Bernard van Leer Foundation.
