(2011-2012) A thematic study on “the responsiveness of service providers in identifying, reporting and referring cases of violence against children” was conducted on behalf of the Development Researchers’ Network within the framework of “Protection of Children from Violence in South East Europe” Project implemented by UNICEF CEE/CIS Regional Office. Trainings developed, implemented and evaluated on child rights, child protection, child justice, child labour and violence against children
(2019-cont.) Sector-specific guidelines and training modules are being developed and piloted on behalf of UNFPA on child, early and forced marriage for law enforcement and justice officials.
(2014) Training programmes and handbooks were developed for candidate judges-prosecutors and newly appointed social workers; and consultancy services were provided on revision of training programmes for child prisons’ staff within the framework of “Justice for Children” Project implemented in collaboration of the Ministry of Justice, Justice Academy of Turkey and UNICEF.
(2013-2014) A training programme was developed and piloted on behalf of Koç Holding for police officers working with women victims of violence at Istanbul Police Department.
(2013) A training programme (face to face and e-training modules) was developed on “Holistic Approach in Child Protection Services” for the staff of child protection centers within the framework of the “Strengthening Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation Services for Children Victims of Abuse and Neglect” Project implemented by the Association for Supporting Child Protection Centers (ÇOKMED) and Marmara University Child Protection Implementation and Research Center with the financial support of Istanbul Development Agency.
(2013) A training programme was developed on prevention of child labour in seasonal migrant agriculture, on behalf of International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Development Workshop, for all relevant parties including public officials, village heads, orchard owners, agricultural middlemen and families.
(2012) Trainings were provided on behalf of Artı Artı Training and Consultancy Center for volunteers and professional staff of Tarlabaşı Community Center on risk prevention and intervention mechanisms for children; and for high school students under social risk on child rights and protection within the framework of a project conducted by Zeytinburnu Municipality Family, Women and Disabled Support Center (AKDEM).
(2012) A training programme was developed and conducted for dormitory managers on child protection and risk prevention within the framework of a project on strengthening young girls, implemented by Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education.
(2010-2011) AÇEV parenting and literacy programmes were analyzed with child protection perspective and programme specific recommendations for revision were developed in light of the analysis results.
Strategy development, mapping, modelling and evaluation on child protection and child justice
(2016-2019) A referral guide about available services provided to 0-8 year old children and their families was developed on behalf of Bernard van Leer Foundation. A web-based version of the guide is being developed to assist families to reach out services they need. The e-guide will be accessible here (available only in Turkish).
(2017) Technical assistance was provided to four municipalities in Istanbul in preparation of project proposals for Istanbul95 Project implemented by Bernard van Leer Foundation to support district municipalities’ efforts in developing services and infrastructure for 0-3 year old children and their families.

(2012-2014) Consultancy services were provided within the framework of “Justice for Children” Project implemented in collaboration of the Ministry of Justice and UNICEF for needs assessment and model development in conditional release mechanism in juvenile justice system.
(2012-2014) Baseline study and impact evaluation of the “A Fair Start for Young Children in Turkish Rural Communities” Project implemented by AÇEV were coordinated on behalf of Development Workshop.
(2012) Forensic assessment forms were developed in collaboration with the representatives of university child protection centers / units and a web-based e-database was developed for assessment forms within the framework of the “Standardization of Intervention with Children Victims of Abuse and Neglect” Project implemented by the Marmara University Child Protection Implementation and Research Center with the financial support of Istanbul Development Agency.
(2010-2011) A strategy document was prepared for AÇEV on how to strengthen the Turkish child protection system. In this context, a desk review report was prepared on the current situation of children and child rights in Turkey at the legislation, policy and implementation levels; a needs analysis was conducted based on the international standards and two country examples; and, an action plan and a strategy report were developed based on the results of the needs analysis.
Researches, evaluations and planning on child labour in agriculture / textile and working conditions
(2019-cont.) Consultancy services are being provided for the “Needs Assessment of Syrian Semi-Nomadic Groups Living in Southeast Turkey” conducted by the Development Workshop for GOAL.
(2019-cont.) A “Legislative Gap Analysis in Prevention of Child labour in Seasonal Agriculture” was conducted on behalf of the Development Workshop and International Labour Organization (ILO); reporting is ongoing.
(2018-cont.) Consultancy services are being provided on behalf of the Development Workshop for the pre- and post-evaluation of the “Empowering Syrian Workers in the Turkish Garment Industry” Project implemented by Centro de los Derechos del Migrante (CDM) and Refugee Support Center. The baseline report was prepared in 2018, the endline report will be ready in early 2020.
(2017-2018) Coordination and consultancy services were provided in the framework of the “Reducing Legal and Institutional Gaps in Prevention of Child Labour in Seasonal Agriculture” Project funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and implemented by the Development Workshop. Analyses were carried out on legal and institutional gaps and health risks in the context of preventing child labour in agriculture. (2014, 2018) Consultancy and coordination services were provided on behalf of the Development Workshop for UTZ Certified in conducting baseline and endline studies on control points regarding working conditions in hazelnut production.
(2016-2017) Consultancy services were provided on behalf of the Development Workshop, in the framework of “Partnership to Prevent Child and Forced Labor in the Imported Agriculture Products: Piloting the USDA Guidelines in the Hazelnuts Supply Chain in Turkey”, implemented by the Fair Labor Association, for baseline assessment of the institutional capacities to combat child and forced labor. (2015-2017) Consultancy services were provided on behalf of the Development Workshop, in the framework of the “Action-Based Collaborative Approach to Investigating Child Labour Issues in the Upstream Cotton Supply Chain in Turkey” Project, implemented by the Fair Labor Association, for stakeholder mapping and evaluation of the working conditions and child labour risks in the cotton supply chain. (2013-2014) Consultancy services were provided in the framework of the “Combating Child Labour at the Local Level in the scope of Children Participating in Seasonal Agricultural Migration” Project funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and implemented by the Development Workshop. (2013) Consultancy services were provided for feasibility and reporting of the “Tufanbeyli Thermal Power Plant Community Development Programme” prepared by the Development Workshop for SRM Consultancy.
(2013) Consultancy services were provided for pre-feasibility, feasibility and reporting of the “Siirt Çetin Hydropower Plant Social Investment Programme” prepared by the Development Workshop for Statkraft.
(2016) The chapter on “Juvenile Justice Process” in the book titled “Juvenile Delinquency” (published by Pearson in 2013) was translated to Turkish. The book was published in Turkish in 2017.
(2016) Two chapters were prepared for the book edited by the Association for Supporting Child Protection Centers (ÇOKMED) on child protection systems (available only in Turkish).
(2013) “Stolen Tomorrows: Understanding and Treating Women’s Childhood Sexual Abuse” was prepared for publishing in Turkish in collaboration with the Association for Supporting Child Protection Centers (ÇOKMED). The book was published by Paloma Publishing House.
